Indications
Uniferfol is indicated for the treatment of iron and folic acid deficiency in patients requiring additional supplementation. It is especially useful during pregnancy, lactation, and in individuals with inadequate diets or medical conditions that prevent proper absorption of these essential nutrients. This product may also be indicated in cases of iron-deficiency anemia, where iron supplementation is crucial for red blood cell production and to maintain adequate hemoglobin levels in the body.
Composition
Each Uniferfol capsule contains: 36 mg of iron (as ferrous fumarate) and 0.8 mg of folic acid.
Contraindications
Uniferfol is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in cases of non-iron deficiency anemias or in patients with hemochromatosis, sideroblastosis, or any other condition involving iron overload.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with gastrointestinal diseases that may affect iron absorption. Additionally, it is important to monitor blood iron levels in patients receiving prolonged treatment with this supplement. In case of adverse symptoms, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
