Indications
Unifer 18 mg is indicated as a treatment for iron deficiency anemia, especially in patients with iron deficiency. This medication is used to increase iron levels in the body, contributing to red blood cell formation and improved oxygen transport to tissues. It is especially useful in situations of increased iron requirements, such as during pregnancy, lactation, or in patients with inadequate diets. It is also recommended in cases of chronic blood loss or conditions that compromise iron absorption.
Composition
Each capsule contains: Carbonyl Iron 18 mg. Excipients: gelatin, titanium dioxide, glycerin, among others.
Contraindications
Unifer is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to carbonyl iron or any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered in cases of non-iron deficiency anemias, hemochromatosis, or hemosiderosis, as well as in patients with gastrointestinal diseases that alter iron absorption.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease. It is important to monitor serum iron levels and other hematological parameters during treatment. In case of adverse symptoms, it is recommended to discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
