Indications

Unamol (Cisapride) is indicated for the treatment of motility-related gastrointestinal disorders, such as gastroesophageal reflux and gastroparesis. Cisapride works by increasing gastrointestinal tract motility, which facilitates gastric emptying and improves intestinal transit. It is commonly used in patients presenting with symptoms of dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting associated with motility problems. It has also been used in cases of chronic constipation refractory to other treatments.

Composition

Each Unamol tablet contains 10 mg of cisapride as the active ingredient. Excipients: starch, talc, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

Unamol is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the formula's components, as well as in those with obstructive gastrointestinal diseases, such as ileus or intestinal perforation. It should not be administered to patients with severe renal or hepatic insufficiency, or to those receiving treatment with medications that prolong the QT interval.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in its use in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias or pre-existing heart diseases. It is important to monitor cardiac function in patients requiring prolonged cisapride treatment. Likewise, the possibility of interactions with other medications that may affect hepatic metabolism should be considered.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
