Indications

Tusilen is indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with respiratory conditions, such as dry and productive cough. Its formulation combines an expectorant (guaifenesin), a cough suppressant (dextromethorphan), and an analgesic/antipyretic (paracetamol), which helps relieve cough, facilitate the expulsion of secretions, and reduce fever in patients with colds, flu, and other respiratory infections. It is important that its use be in accordance with medical indications and within the context of a proper diagnosis.

Composition

Each 5 ml of syrup contains: Guaifenesin 1.2 g, Dextromethorphan 0.15 g, Paracetamol 3 g.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components, as well as in those with severe liver disease or respiratory failure. Its use is not recommended in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients who are being treated with antidepressants.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of substance abuse, as well as in those with heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, or thyroid problems. It is recommended to consult a doctor if symptoms persist for more than 5 days or worsen. Concomitant use with other medications containing paracetamol should also be avoided to prevent overdose.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
