Indications
Trusopt is indicated for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. This medication helps reduce intraocular pressure in patients who do not respond adequately to other treatments. Dorzolamide, its active component, works by decreasing the production of aqueous humor in the eye, which helps control eye pressure. It is important that this medication be used under medical supervision, especially in patients with a history of ocular or systemic diseases.
Composition
Each milliliter of Trusopt contains 20 mg of dorzolamide (as dorzolamide hydrochloride) and excipients: sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, purified water.
Contraindications
Trusopt is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dorzolamide or any other component of the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with renal insufficiency or in those who have had adverse reactions to other carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with obstructive pulmonary diseases, as the use of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors may worsen the condition. In addition, it is important to periodically monitor renal function during treatment. Concomitant use of other anti-glaucoma medications is not recommended without a doctor's supervision.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
