Indications

Trixona IM is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, and septicemia. It is also used for preoperative prophylaxis in surgical procedures where a high risk of infection is anticipated. Its efficacy is primarily against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, making it useful in the treatment of infections caused by ceftriaxone-sensitive organisms.

Composition

Each Trixona IM ampoule contains 500 mg of ceftriaxone, as well as the necessary excipients for its formulation.

Contraindications

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ceftriaxone or any of the formulation components. Furthermore, its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics, such as penicillins and cephalosporins.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis, and in those with severe renal or hepatic insufficiency. Appropriate monitoring of renal function and coagulation is recommended during treatment, as there may be a risk of adverse reactions, including hematological alterations. In pregnant and breastfeeding women, the risk-benefit ratio should be evaluated before administration.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
