Indications

Travatan is indicated for the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The active ingredient, travoprost, works by increasing the drainage of aqueous humor, which helps reduce pressure inside the eye. It is important to follow medical instructions and perform regular intraocular pressure checks to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment.

Composition

Each milliliter of solution contains 0.004% travoprost. Additionally, it contains excipients such as sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, and purified water, which facilitate the stability and administration of the medication.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to travoprost or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with active eye inflammation, untreated eye infections, or in those with a history of uveitis or iritis.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of respiratory problems, such as asthma or obstructive pulmonary diseases. The use of Travatan can cause changes in the pigmentation of the iris, as well as the eyelashes and skin around the eyes. Patients who wear contact lenses should be monitored, as these must be removed before applying the medication and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
