Indications
Torlamo (Lamotrigine) is indicated for the treatment of epileptic seizures in patients with epilepsy. It is used in maintenance therapy for partial epilepsy, as well as in the treatment of generalized epilepsy. Additionally, it is used in the management of episodes of bipolar affective disorder, helping to prevent episodes of depression and mania. The use of Lamotrigine requires constant medical monitoring, as its dosage may be adjusted according to the patient's individual needs and response to treatment.
Composition
Each tablet contains 25 mg of Lamotrigine as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as lactose monohydrate, starch, among others, which make up the product formulation.
Contraindications
Torlamo is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Lamotrigine or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe adverse reactions to other anticonvulsants, as well as during pregnancy and lactation, unless the benefit outweighs the risk.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of severe skin reactions, as Lamotrigine has been associated with these reactions. It is important to inform the doctor about any concomitant medications, as some interactions can affect the effectiveness of the treatment. A gradual initiation of dosage is recommended to minimize the risk of adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
