Indications

Tobradex is indicated for the treatment of ocular infections caused by tobramycin-sensitive organisms, as well as for the reduction of ocular inflammation associated with such infections. It is useful in the combined therapy of ocular infections in patients requiring anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial therapy. Its use is recommended in conditions such as bacterial conjunctivitis and blepharitis, where rapid anti-inflammatory and antibiotic action is needed. It can also be used in postoperative cases to prevent infections and control inflammation.

Composition

Each mL of Tobradex contains: Dexamethasone 0.1 mg and Tobramycin 0.3 mg. Excipients: sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, and purified water.

Contraindications

Tobradex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the product's components, as well as in those with viral or fungal eye infections. It should not be used in cases of ocular tuberculosis or in conditions where an epithelial corneal lesion is present.

Precautions

It should be used with caution in patients with a history of ocular herpes simplex, as prolonged use may increase the risk of corneal perforation. Regular monitoring is recommended for patients using the medication for prolonged periods. Use in infants and children without medical supervision is not recommended. Avoid contact of the dropper with any surface to prevent contamination.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 °C and 30 °C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
