Indications
Suloval (Cefepime) is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by cefepime-susceptible strains. This includes complicated urinary tract infections, community-acquired pneumonia, complicated intra-abdominal infections, and septicemia. It is also used for the treatment of serious infections in immunocompromised patients, as well as skin and soft tissue infections. Its broad spectrum of activity makes it effective against different types of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Composition
Each ampule of Suloval contains 500 mg of cefepime, as well as excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cefepime, other cephalosporin antibiotics, or any component of the formula. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions.
Precautions
Renal function tests are recommended before starting treatment. It should be used with caution in patients with renal insufficiency, as well as in those with a history of antibiotic-associated colitis. It is important to monitor for adverse reactions, especially during prolonged treatments.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 °C and 30 °C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
