Indications
Stamaril is indicated for active immunization against yellow fever in people 9 months of age and older who live in or travel to areas where the disease is endemic. This vaccine is especially recommended for those planning to travel to at-risk areas in Africa and South America, where yellow fever is endemic. Vaccination is a fundamental preventive measure to avoid infection with the yellow fever virus, which is transmitted through the bite of infected mosquitoes. A single dose is recommended, although in some cases a booster dose may be necessary, depending on local recommendations and vaccination guidelines. It is essential to consult a doctor to determine the appropriate time for vaccination, especially in people with pre-existing medical conditions or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Composition
Each dose of Stamaril contains attenuated yellow fever virus, along with excipients and stabilizers that allow for the vaccine's preservation and effectiveness.
Contraindications
Stamaril should not be administered to people with a known allergy to any component of the vaccine, as well as those with severe immunodeficiencies or on immunosuppressive treatment. It should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women without prior medical consultation.
