Indications
Somatixel (Docetaxel) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with metastatic breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, hormone-refractory prostate cancer, and head and neck cancer. This medication acts as a chemotherapeutic agent that inhibits cell mitosis, resulting in the death of cancer cells. It is essential that the treatment be administered by trained medical personnel, and that adequate follow-up is performed to evaluate the response to treatment.
Composition
Each ampoule contains 80 mg of Docetaxel as the active ingredient. In addition, it contains excipients that aid in the formulation of the medication, ensuring its stability and efficacy.
Contraindications
Somatixel is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Docetaxel or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe neutropenia, active infections, and in those with severe liver disorders.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of lung diseases, cardiovascular diseases, or those receiving other oncological treatments. Regular hematological monitoring is important during treatment to detect possible adverse effects related to the bone marrow. Additionally, care should be taken in elderly patients and those with compromised liver function.
Storage
Store in its original container, protected from light and at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
