Indications
Skudexa is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain, as well as for the management of postoperative pain. Its combined formulation of tramadol, an opioid analgesic, and dexketoprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), provides effective pain relief by acting on different mechanisms of the central and peripheral nervous systems. Its use is recommended in patients who require intensive analgesic treatment or who have not responded adequately to other analgesics. In addition, it is useful in conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, where pain and inflammation control are crucial for the patient's quality of life.
Composition
Each Skudexa tablet contains 75 mg of tramadol and 25 mg of dexketoprofen as active ingredients. In addition, it includes excipients such as starch, lactose, and other components that facilitate the formulation and absorption of the medication.
Contraindications
Skudexa is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components, as well as in those with a history of opioid intoxication or severe respiratory depression. It should not be administered to patients with active peptic ulcer or severe inflammatory bowel disease. Its use is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, except in specific indications under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of substance abuse, depression, or liver and kidney diseases. Respiratory function should be monitored in patients who may be at risk of respiratory depression. Concomitant use of other medications affecting the central nervous system may increase the risk of adverse effects.
