Indications
Simdax (levosimendan) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with acutely decompensated heart failure who require an improvement in cardiac contractility. This medication acts as an inotropic agent, improving heart function and facilitating blood flow. It is especially useful in situations where conventional treatments are insufficient or when there is a significant deterioration in the patient's functional capacity.
Simdax is designed to be administered in a hospital setting under the supervision of healthcare professionals. It is recommended to carefully evaluate the patient's response to treatment, as well as renal function and electrolytes, as therapy may influence these parameters.
Composition
Each Simdax ampoule contains 12.5 mg of levosimendan in 5 ml of solution. The excipients and presentation form are intended to ensure the stability and efficacy of the active ingredient.
Contraindications
Simdax should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to levosimendan or any of the excipients in the formulation. Additionally, it is contraindicated in patients with left ventricular outflow tract obstruction, such as severe aortic stenosis, and in those with severe renal or hepatic impairment.
Precautions
It is important to monitor blood pressure and heart rate during treatment with Simdax, and to use it with caution in patients with a history of hypotension or arrhythmias. In addition, dose adjustment is recommended in elderly patients or those with conditions that may affect the pharmacokinetics of the medication.
Storage
Simdax should be stored at a controlled temperature between 2°C and 8°C. Keep the medicine in its original packaging and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
