Indications
Setrontec (Ondansetron) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. This medication acts as a selective 5-HT3 serotonin receptor antagonist, which helps block the signals that cause the sensation of nausea and the vomiting reflex. Its use is recommended in patients undergoing oncological treatments, in those requiring general anesthesia, and in cases of postoperative vomiting. Setrontec administration must be supervised by a healthcare professional, and patient evaluation should be considered to determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment.
Composition
Each Setrontec ampoule contains: Ondansetron 8 mg, excipients q.s. 4 ml.
Contraindications
Setrontec is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ondansetron or to any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of allergic reaction to other 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. Likewise, its use should be evaluated in patients with cardiac problems, as it has been associated with QT interval prolongation.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver disease, as ondansetron metabolism may be affected. Additionally, care should be taken in patients who present dehydration or electrolyte imbalance, as these factors may increase the risk of adverse effects. It is important to inform the doctor about any medications being taken to avoid interactions.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
