Indications
Seronex Lp is a medication indicated for the treatment of nausea and vomiting, as well as for the management of gastrointestinal disorders associated with delayed gastric emptying. Its use is recommended in patients exhibiting symptoms of gastroparesis, especially those with diabetes, and in the treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Additionally, it can be useful in managing dyspepsia symptoms and in treating hyperemesis gravidarum in pregnant women, under medical supervision.
Composition
Each Seronex Lp tablet contains 60 mg of domperidone as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to domperidone or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in individuals with a history of prolactinoma, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, or severe hepatic insufficiency. It should also be avoided in patients who are receiving medications that prolong the QT interval.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with renal insufficiency, as domperidone elimination may be affected. Likewise, caution is recommended in those with a history of heart disease. It is important to monitor patients using Seronex Lp in combination with other medications that may affect the central nervous system or heart rhythm.
