Indications
Seronex is indicated for the treatment of symptoms related to gastrointestinal disorders, such as nausea and vomiting. It is used in the management of intestinal transit disorders and in the prevention of nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapeutic and radiotherapeutic treatments. It may also be useful in the treatment of functional dyspepsia and in improving gastric emptying in patients with gastroparesis. It is essential that the use of this medication be supervised by a doctor to ensure its appropriate indication and monitoring.
Composition
Each Seronex tablet contains 10 mg of domperidone as the active ingredient. Excipients may include: lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other components that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
Seronex is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to domperidone or any component of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction of the digestive tract, or intestinal perforation. It is also contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled heart rhythm disorders and in those who are being treated with medications that may prolong the QT interval.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of liver disease, as domperidone is mainly metabolized in the liver. Likewise, it is recommended to evaluate the risk-benefit ratio in patients with a history of heart problems or in those taking medications that may affect heart function. It is important to monitor for possible adverse effects and adjust the dose according to the patient's response.
Storage
Store Seronex at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
