Indications
Senovital Mast (Montelukast) is indicated for the treatment and prevention of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children. Additionally, it is used in the treatment of asthma, including reducing the need for rescue medication and preventing exercise-induced asthma attacks. Montelukast acts as a leukotriene receptor antagonist, which helps reduce inflammation and bronchial congestion, thereby improving respiratory function and quality of life for patients.
Composition
Each Senovital Mast tablet contains 5 mg of Montelukast as the active ingredient. Excipients include lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients who have shown hypersensitivity to Montelukast or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients requiring acute asthma treatment or as monotherapy for asthma management in emergency situations.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of psychiatric illness, as changes in behavior and mood disturbances have been reported. Regular monitoring is recommended in these patients. Furthermore, abrupt discontinuation of other asthma medications should be avoided when starting Montelukast treatment, unless otherwise directed by a physician. Montelukast is not recommended for use as a rescue treatment for asthma attacks.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
