Indications
Rofucal is indicated for the treatment of essential arterial hypertension in adults. Hydrochlorothiazide, its active ingredient, acts as a thiazide diuretic that helps reduce blood pressure by promoting the elimination of sodium and water through urine. It can also be used in the treatment of edema associated with congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney diseases. It is important that the use of this medication is supervised by a doctor, who will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment according to the patient's needs.
Composition
Each Rofucal tablet contains 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide as the active ingredient. Excipients vary depending on the specific product formulation.
Contraindications
Rofucal is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to hydrochlorothiazide or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in cases of anuria, severe renal insufficiency, and during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of gout, diabetes, liver or kidney diseases, and in those taking other antihypertensive medications. Regular monitoring of electrolytes and kidney function is essential during treatment. Likewise, excessive alcohol consumption and prolonged sun exposure should be avoided, as they can increase the risk of adverse effects.
