Indications
Rexulti (Brexpiprazole) is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults. It is also used as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of major depressive episodes in adults with major depressive disorder, when antidepressants alone are not sufficient. This medication works by modulating neurotransmitter activity in the brain, which helps to improve mood and reduce psychotic symptoms.
Composition
Each tablet contains 0.5 mg of Brexpiprazole as the active ingredient. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, starch, and other inactive components that facilitate the drug's formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Brexpiprazole or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome or in those who present with symptoms of tardive dyskinesia.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Rexulti to patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, seizure disorders, or those at risk of dehydration. It is important to monitor patients' mental status during treatment, as well as their weight and glucose levels, due to the possibility of adverse metabolic effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
