Indications
Rexulti (brexpiprazole) is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults. It is also used as an adjunctive treatment for major depressive episodes in adults, in combination with antidepressants. This medication has proven effective in reducing psychotic symptoms and improving mood in patients suffering from severe mental disorders. It is recommended that the use of Rexulti be supervised by a healthcare professional who can assess the response to treatment and adjust the dosage as needed.
Composition
Each tablet contains 2 mg of brexpiprazole as the active ingredient. Additional composition includes excipients that allow for the formulation of the medication in tablet form.
Contraindications
Rexulti is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to brexpiprazole or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome or in those with a history of severe adverse reactions to other antipsychotics. Furthermore, it should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Rexulti to patients with a history of seizures, cardiovascular diseases, or those receiving treatments that may increase the risk of adverse effects. It is important to monitor patients for any symptoms that may indicate a serious adverse reaction, as well as to evaluate the appearance of extrapyramidal symptoms.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
