Indications

Respicil is used in the treatment of various bacterial infections, as well as for pain and fever management. It is an antibiotic that acts effectively against susceptible microorganisms. Benzylpenicillin is commonly used for the treatment of infections caused by streptococci and staphylococci, as well as in the prophylaxis of rheumatic fever. Metamizole sodium, on the other hand, acts as an analgesic and antipyretic, being useful in the treatment of conditions where effective pain control is required, such as in post-operative care or in cases of colic. This medication may be indicated for patients with severe infections, where the combination of both components provides a synergistic action that improves the efficacy of the treatment.

Composition

Each Respicil ampule contains 500 mg of benzylpenicillin and 500 mg of metamizole sodium.

Contraindications

Respicil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillin or any component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in those with a history of severe allergic reactions to other analgesics or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Its use in patients with acute intermittent porphyria is not recommended.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Respicil to patients with a history of hematological diseases, as well as in those with compromised renal or hepatic function. Monitoring of renal function and blood count is recommended during prolonged treatments. Avoid simultaneous administration with other medications that may increase the risk of adverse reactions.

Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
