Indications

Remeron Soltab is indicated for the treatment of major depressive episodes in adults. Its action is based on the modulation of noradrenergic and serotonergic neurotransmission. It is used in patients who present with symptoms of depression, such as persistent sadness, loss of interest in activities, changes in appetite and sleep, and difficulty concentrating. This medication can be considered as a therapeutic option in patients who have not responded adequately to other antidepressants or who are intolerant to them. Dosage titration should be carried out by a healthcare professional, adjusted to the individual needs of the patient.

Composition

Each Remeron Soltab tablet contains 30 mg of mirtazapine as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as mannitol, flavorings, and other components that facilitate the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Remeron Soltab is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mirtazapine or any of the excipients. It should not be administered in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients with a history of manic or hypomanic episodes. Its use during pregnancy and lactation must be evaluated and supervised by a physician.

Precautions

It is important to monitor patients for the possible emergence of suicidal symptoms, especially in the first few weeks of treatment. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizures or liver disorders, as well as in those who consume alcohol. Discontinuation of treatment should be gradual to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
