Indications
Raamfem (diphenidol) is indicated for the treatment of nausea and vomiting, including those associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as for the management of dizziness and vertigo. Diphenidol acts as a central antiemetic, blocking serotonin receptors in the central nervous system, which helps reduce the excitability of the vomiting center. This medication is useful in the treatment of vestibular disorders and can be used as part of a comprehensive therapeutic approach in patients experiencing recurrent episodes of dizziness.
Composition
Each Raamfem tablet contains 25 mg of diphenidol as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, corn starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Raamfem is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diphenidol or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe respiratory diseases, narrow-angle glaucoma, or in those with a history of seizures. This medication should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation without adequate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Raamfem in patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency, as well as in those who are being treated with other medications that may potentiate its effects. It is important to monitor for the appearance of adverse effects, especially in elderly patients or those with comorbidities. Regular medical follow-up during treatment is suggested.
