Indications

Qattiq (rasagiline) is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, either alone or in combination with other anti-Parkinsonian medications, such as levodopa, in patients experiencing motor fluctuations. Rasagiline acts as a monoamine oxidase type B (MAO-B) inhibitor, which helps to increase dopamine levels in the brain, thereby improving motor symptoms and quality of life in patients with this chronic and progressive disease.

Composition

Each Qattiq tablet contains 1 mg of rasagiline, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation.

Contraindications

Qattiq is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to rasagiline or any of the formula's components. It is also contraindicated in patients who are taking certain medications, such as other monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or antidepressants, due to the risk of adverse interactions that can result in hypertensive crises or serotonin syndrome.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Qattiq to patients with a history of psychiatric disorders, cardiovascular disease, or epilepsy. Likewise, it is important to monitor blood pressure in patients who are being treated with rasagiline and who may have an increased risk of hypertension. Its use in combination with other treatments that affect serotonergic activity is not recommended.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature between 15°C and 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
