Indications
Q-Mind (Quetiapine) is indicated for the treatment of psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder. In patients with schizophrenia, Q-Mind helps improve psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and thought disorganization. In bipolar disorder, it is used for the management of manic and mixed episodes, as well as for the prevention of depressive episodes. Additionally, it has shown efficacy in the treatment of major depressive disorder as an adjunct to other antidepressants. Quetiapine acts on various receptors in the brain, contributing to its mood-stabilizing and antipsychotic effect.
Composition
Each tablet contains 300 mg of quetiapine as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, povidone, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Q-Mind is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to quetiapine or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients who are being treated with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors. Likewise, it is contraindicated in patients with a history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, liver diseases, or in those at risk of developing orthostatic hypotension. It is important to monitor for the appearance of diabetes symptoms, as well as weight gain during treatment. It is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment with Q-Mind.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature (between 15 and 30 °C), protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
