Indications
Procoralan (Ivabradine) is indicated for the treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris in patients who cannot receive or do not tolerate beta-blockers. It is also used in the treatment of chronic heart failure in patients with reduced ejection fraction, who have sinus rhythm and a heart rate greater than 70 beats per minute, as an adjunct to standard therapy. The reduction in heart rate can help decrease the risk of hospitalization and cardiovascular events in these patients.
Composition
Each Procoralan tablet contains 5 mg of Ivabradine as the active ingredient. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, talc, among others.
Contraindications
Procoralan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ivabradine or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency, symptomatic bradycardia, sick sinus syndrome, or second- and third-degree AV block without a pacemaker. It is contraindicated in combination with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with renal insufficiency, a history of arrhythmias, or if other medications that may affect heart rate are being taken. Heart rate and blood pressure should be carefully monitored during treatment. It is important to avoid use in patients with conditions that predispose to bradycardia.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
