Indications
Premid Ointment is a medication indicated for the treatment of various dermatological conditions that require anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action. It is used in the management of dermatitis, eczema, and allergic skin reactions. In addition, it is effective in the treatment of superficial skin infections caused by bacteria susceptible to sulfacetamide. Its formulation combines the anti-inflammatory effect of prednisolone with the antimicrobial properties of sulfacetamide, allowing a dual approach in the treatment of dermatological conditions complicated by infections.
Composition
Each 100 g of ointment contains: 100 mg of prednisolone and 5 mg of sulfacetamide. Excipients: lanolin, petrolatum and others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, as well as in those with viral, fungal, or tuberculous skin infections. Its use is not recommended on skin lesions that show signs of uncontrolled infection or that are caused by fungi or other pathogens not susceptible to sulfacetamide.
Precautions
It should be used with caution in patients with a history of systemic diseases, diabetes, or those who are under prolonged treatment with corticosteroids. It is important to avoid its application on extensive areas of the skin or for prolonged periods without medical supervision. The use of this medication in children requires special attention and supervision by a healthcare professional.
