Indications
Premid is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory eye conditions that require the use of a corticosteroid and an antibiotic. It is useful in the management of conjunctivitis and other eye conditions that present with inflammation and risk of bacterial infection. Prednisolone acts as a potent anti-inflammatory, while sulfacetamide provides antibacterial action, helping to control the proliferation of bacteria in the ocular environment. This medication is indicated in cases of ocular inflammation associated with allergic conjunctivitis, keratitis, and other inflammatory conditions that may benefit from combined treatment.
Composition
Each 10 ml of solution contains: Prednisolone 450 mg and Sulfacetamide 10 g. Excipients: purified water, sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid and others.
Contraindications
Premid is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in viral eye infections, such as herpes simplex, or in the presence of fungal infections. Likewise, its use is not recommended in patients with glaucoma or those with corneal ulcers.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Premid in patients with pre-existing eye diseases, such as glaucoma or cataracts, as prolonged use of corticosteroids may aggravate these conditions. It is important to monitor the response to treatment and the appearance of side effects. Simultaneous use with other ophthalmic medications without medical supervision is not recommended.
Storage
Store the product in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
