Indications
Prazolan is indicated for the treatment of various conditions related to excess gastric acid. It is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing symptoms such as heartburn and regurgitation. It is also indicated in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, as well as in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with antibiotics, which helps prevent ulcer recurrence. Additionally, Prazolan may be useful in the prevention of ulcers related to the prolonged use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Composition
Each tablet contains 40 mg of pantoprazole. Excipients: lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Prazolan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or any of the components of the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe liver disease.
Precautions
Medical follow-up is recommended in patients with symptoms of peptic ulcer, as well as in those with liver insufficiency. It is important to inform the doctor about any other medications being taken, as interactions may occur. Prolonged use without medical supervision is not recommended.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
