Indications
Phesgo is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with early or advanced stage HER2-positive breast cancer. It is used in combination with chemotherapy to improve outcomes in patients who have been diagnosed with carcinoma in situ or metastatic breast cancer. This medication is especially effective in the context of neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapy, and has been shown to reduce the risk of tumor recurrence. Phesgo acts by inhibiting HER2 receptor signaling, resulting in decreased cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis in tumor cells. Its use must be evaluated and supervised by an oncology specialist to determine the suitability of the treatment in each particular case.
Composition
Each vial of Phesgo contains 600 mg of Pertuzumab, 600 mg of Trastuzumab, and 10 ml of Hyaluronidase as an excipient. This combination allows for efficient subcutaneous administration, improving patient comfort and optimizing drug absorption.
Contraindications
Phesgo is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those who experience severe adverse reactions to other monoclonal antibodies. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without an adequate evaluation of the risks and benefits.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, as the use of Trastuzumab has been associated with cardiac dysfunction. Furthermore, regular monitoring of cardiac function during treatment is essential. Liver function tests are recommended before and during treatment due to possible alterations.
Storage
Phesgo should be stored at a temperature between 2°C and 8°C, protected from light. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
