Indications
Pezzil (Donepezil) is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of Alzheimer's type dementia in patients with mild to moderate disease. This medication acts as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, which increases acetylcholine levels in the brain, thereby improving cognitive function and memory. It is important that treatment be initiated and supervised by a specialist physician, as the response to treatment may vary among patients.
Composition
Each Pezzil tablet contains 5 mg of Donepezil hydrochloride as the active ingredient, as well as excipients such as lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, among others.
Contraindications
Pezzil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Donepezil or any of the excipients in the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal problems, as this medication may induce adverse effects in the digestive tract.
Precautions
It is recommended to monitor patients with a history of seizures, bradycardia, heart block, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is important to evaluate liver and kidney function before initiating treatment, as the metabolism and elimination of Donepezil may be altered in these patients. The use of Donepezil in combination with other acetylcholinesterase inhibitors is not recommended without proper medical supervision.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
