Indications
Peyona is indicated for the treatment of various conditions related to fatigue and drowsiness, as well as in the management of sleep disorders. Caffeine, its active ingredient, acts as a central nervous system stimulant, promoting attention and alertness. It is used in cases of narcolepsy, sleep apnea, and other disorders that require increased wakefulness. Additionally, it can be used in the context of migraines, where it is combined with other analgesics to enhance their effectiveness. It is important to consider the use of Peyona in patients who require support to combat excessive daytime sleepiness or those who need to improve their cognitive and physical performance in situations of stress or acute fatigue.
Composition
Each ampoule of Peyona contains 20 mg/ml of caffeine as an active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to caffeine or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, or seizure disorders. Likewise, it should be avoided in patients with peptic ulcers or severe gastrointestinal disorders.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of anxiety, insomnia, or psychiatric disorders, as the use of caffeine may exacerbate these problems. It is also advisable to monitor those who consume other stimulants or who have kidney or liver disease.
