Indications
Perfalgan is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, as well as for the reduction of fever. It is commonly used in situations such as postoperative pain, dental pain, muscle pain, and febrile conditions in pediatric and adult patients. Its efficacy is based on its analgesic and antipyretic action, making it a preferred option for patients where the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is not suitable. Its use is recommended in patients at risk of gastrointestinal adverse effects and for those requiring pain management in the context of specific medical conditions, especially in a hospital setting.
Composition
Each Perfalgan ampoule contains:
- Paracetamol: 1 g
- Excipients: water for injection, sodium chloride, and other excipients necessary for the formulation.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to paracetamol or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in cases of severe liver failure or in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, as the use of paracetamol can aggravate these conditions.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with liver diseases or in those who habitually consume alcohol. It is also recommended to monitor liver function during prolonged treatments and avoid overdose, as it can cause severe liver damage. In case of allergic reactions, treatment should be discontinued immediately.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
