Indications
Penprocilina is indicated for the treatment of penicillin-susceptible bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as for the treatment of certain types of bacterial meningitis. It is also used in the treatment of streptococcal and staphylococcal infections, and in the treatment of syphilis. Additionally, it can be used as a prophylactic in situations where it is deemed necessary to prevent infections in patients with specific conditions.
Composition
Each vial contains Procaine Benzylpenicillin and Benzylpenicillin in a total concentration of 400,000 units. Additionally, necessary excipients for the drug's formulation are included.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin or any of its components. It should also be avoided in patients with viral infections or in conditions of severe renal insufficiency without adequate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of allergies to other beta-lactam antibiotics. It is recommended to perform sensitivity tests before starting treatment. In case of severe allergic reactions, the use of the medication should be discontinued and immediate medical attention sought.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
