Indications
Pemix is indicated for the treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders, including dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, and other disorders associated with gastrointestinal motility. Cinitapride acts as a prokinetic agent, improving intestinal transit and relieving symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, bloating, and abdominal pain. It is particularly useful in patients who present with symptoms of gastrointestinal discomfort without an identifiable organic cause.
Composition
Each Pemix sachet contains 1 mg of cinitapride as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cinitapride or any component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in cases of intestinal obstruction, intestinal perforation, or gastrointestinal hemorrhage. It is also contraindicated in patients with pheochromocytoma and in those with a history of extrapyramidal disorders.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, as cinitapride may cause cardiovascular side effects. It is important to evaluate renal and hepatic function in patients with moderate to severe disease. Concomitant use with other medications that affect gastrointestinal motility is not recommended without medical supervision.
