Indications

Pantozol is indicated for the treatment of diseases related to excessive gastric acid production. It is used in the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), as well as in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with antibiotics. It is also indicated for the prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers associated with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Additionally, it is useful in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, which is characterized by gastric hypersecretion.

Composition

Each Pantozol ampule contains 40 mg of pantoprazole as the active ingredient. Excipients: mannitol, citric acid, sodium citrate, water for injection, among others.

Contraindications

Pantozol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency or in those who experience severe adverse reactions to other proton pump inhibitors.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those who present symptoms of gastric ulcer or esophagitis. It is important to monitor liver function during treatment and evaluate the need to continue the use of Pantozol in cases of prolonged treatment. In addition, the possibility of interactions with other medications the patient is using should be considered.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep in its original container, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
