Indications
Pantozol is indicated for the treatment of various conditions related to excessive gastric acid production. It is primarily used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition that causes inflammation and damage to the esophagus due to the reflux of stomach acid. It is also indicated in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, as well as in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with antibiotics. Pantozol is effective in reducing acid secretion and helps relieve symptoms such as heartburn, burning, and gastrointestinal discomfort.
Composition
Each Pantozol tablet contains 20 mg of pantoprazole, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or to any of the excipients that make up the product. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver diseases or in those who present conditions that may increase the risk of adverse effects related to the inhibition of acid secretion.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those who present persistent symptoms of dyspepsia or who have a history of gastric ulcers. It is important to monitor patients requiring long-term treatment with pantoprazole for the possibility of long-term adverse effects, such as nutritional deficiencies (e.g., vitamin B12 deficiency).
