Indications

Ovestin Ovules are indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with vulvovaginal atrophy due to estrogen deficiency, which can occur during menopause or after surgical removal of the ovaries. It is effective in relieving vaginal dryness, irritation, and dyspareunia (pain during sexual intercourse). Additionally, it can be used in the treatment of certain menopause-related conditions such as stress urinary incontinence, as well as for the prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who are at risk of fractures. Ovestin can also be used in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in women who have not had a hysterectomy.

Composition

Each ovule contains 0.5 mg of estriol as the active ingredient. Excipients: gelatin, glycerin, citric acid, and other excipients necessary for the ovule formulation.

Contraindications

Ovestin Ovules are contraindicated in patients with a history of breast or endometrial cancer, active thromboembolic disease or a history of thrombosis, vaginal bleeding of unknown cause, and in patients with severe liver diseases. It is also contraindicated in women who are hypersensitive to any of the components of the formula.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and in those who have conditions that may predispose to thrombosis. Regular medical follow-up is important to assess the need to continue treatment, as well as to monitor for possible adverse effects.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C. Keep in a dry place and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
