Indications
Ortopsique (Diazepam) is indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and as an adjunct in the treatment of certain convulsive disorders. It is also used for the management of withdrawal symptoms in patients with substance dependence. This medication acts on the central nervous system, providing a sedative, anxiolytic, and muscle relaxant effect, which helps to relieve tension and anxiety.
Composition
Each Ortopsique tablet contains:
- Diazepam 10 mg
- Excipients: Lactose, starch, talc and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Ortopsique is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diazepam or any of the excipients. It should not be administered in cases of severe respiratory insufficiency, myasthenia gravis, sleep apnea syndrome, and during pregnancy, except in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of substance abuse, respiratory depression, or liver and kidney problems. In addition, combination with alcohol and other central nervous system depressants should be avoided. Prolonged use can lead to dependence, so it is important to follow the doctor's instructions and not exceed the recommended dose.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
