Indications
Openvas is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. It works by blocking angiotensin II receptors, which lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels. It can also be used in combination with other antihypertensive agents to improve blood pressure control. This medication is useful in patients with primary hypertension, which is the most common form of hypertension, and in some cases, its use may be considered in patients with heart failure or those at high risk of cardiovascular events.
Composition
Each Openvas tablet contains 20 mg of olmesartan medoxomil as the active ingredient. Excipients include: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Openvas is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to olmesartan or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or in those with renal artery stenosis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of renal insufficiency, liver disease, or in those receiving diuretics. It is important to regularly monitor renal function and blood electrolytes during treatment. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
