Indications
Obrydex is indicated for the treatment of bacterial eye infections associated with inflammation, as well as for the management of inflammatory conditions of the eye. This medication combines an antibiotic (tobramycin) and a corticosteroid (dexamethasone), allowing for a dual approach to treatment, helping to control both infection and inflammation. It is used in cases of bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and other eye infections where inflammation control is required. Its use is recommended under the supervision of a specialized ophthalmologist.
Composition
Each milliliter of Obrydex drops contains: Tobramycin 3 mg and Dexamethasone 1 mg, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and preservation.
Contraindications
Obrydex should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components. It is contraindicated in viral, fungal, or tuberculous eye infections, as well as in patients with herpes simplex, epithelial keratitis, or any condition that compromises the integrity of the corneal epithelium.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of recurrent eye infection and in those receiving immunosuppressive treatments. Prolonged use can lead to adverse effects such as increased intraocular pressure and cataracts. Regular follow-up with the treating physician is important.
Storage
Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
