Indications

Nuvigil (Armodafinil) is indicated for the treatment of excessive sleepiness associated with narcolepsy, shift work sleep disorder, and obstructive sleep apnea. It is used to improve wakefulness in patients experiencing episodes of excessive daytime sleepiness. This medication acts as a central nervous system stimulant, promoting alertness and reducing the feeling of fatigue. Its use is recommended as part of a comprehensive approach that includes lifestyle changes and non-pharmacological measures for sleep management.

Composition

Each Nuvigil tablet contains 150 mg of Armodafinil as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.

Contraindications

Nuvigil should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to Armodafinil or any of the formula's components. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of serious heart problems or those with a history of substance abuse.

Precautions

Special care should be taken in patients with a history of psychiatric disorders, as the use of Armodafinil may exacerbate psychiatric symptoms in some cases. Regular monitoring is recommended to assess treatment response and adjust the dose if necessary. In addition, alcohol consumption should be avoided during treatment, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects.

Storage

Store Nuvigil at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children and do not use the medication after the expiry date indicated on the package.
