Indications
Nicolodi is indicated for the treatment of dyslipidemias, specifically in patients with hypertriglyceridemia and/or hypercholesterolemia. This medication is used as part of a therapeutic program that includes lifestyle changes, such as an appropriate diet and physical exercise. It is particularly useful in patients who have not achieved control of their lipid levels through dietary changes and require additional pharmacological treatment. Fenofibrate works by reducing triglyceride and LDL cholesterol levels, and increasing HDL cholesterol, thus contributing to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases associated with dyslipidemia.
Composition
Each Nicolodi capsule contains 160 mg of fenofibrate as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Nicolodi is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fenofibrate or any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in cases of active liver disease, such as hepatitis or cirrhosis, and in severe renal insufficiency. Furthermore, it should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney diseases, or those taking other medications that may affect lipid levels. It is important to monitor kidney and liver function during treatment. Likewise, periodic blood tests are recommended to evaluate lipoprotein levels and detect possible adverse effects.
