Indications

Mupirocin 2% Ointment is indicated for the treatment of skin infections caused by bacteria sensitive to mupirocin. It is effective in the treatment of impetigo, folliculitis, blisters, and other superficial skin infections. Additionally, it is used for the eradication of Staphylococcus aureus carriers, especially in cases of recurrent infections. Mupirocin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which results in the death of bacteria and the reduction of infection. It is important to follow medical instructions to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment and prevent bacterial resistance.

Composition

Each 100 grams of ointment contain 2 grams of mupirocin and excipients that allow the formulation of the product.

Contraindications

Mupirocin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to mupirocin or any of the components of the formulation. Its use is not recommended on mucous membranes or large areas of the skin.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when applying mupirocin to large areas of the skin, as prolonged use could lead to increased systemic absorption. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of irritation or allergic reaction, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. Its use is not recommended for infections caused by fungi or viruses.

Storage

Store the ointment at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
