Indications
Moxpharma is indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by amoxicillin-susceptible organisms. This includes, but is not limited to, upper respiratory tract infections such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and otitis media. It is also effective in lower respiratory tract infections, including bronchitis and pneumonia, as well as in urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue infections. Additionally, it is used in combination with other medications for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori.
Composition
Each capsule contains 500 mg of amoxicillin as trihydrate, as well as excipients such as starch, gelatin, and colorants.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, other penicillin-type antibiotics, or any component of the formula. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of antibiotic-associated colitis.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with renal insufficiency, as dose adjustment may be necessary. In addition, its use should be carefully evaluated in patients with a history of allergies, asthma, or gastrointestinal diseases. It is important to monitor patients who develop diarrhea during treatment, as this could be a sign of pseudomembranous colitis.
