Indications

Minirin Melt is indicated for the treatment of both central and nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, as well as for the management of nocturnal enuresis in children over 5 years of age. Desmopressin, its active ingredient, acts as an analogue of the antidiuretic hormone, contributing to the regulation of water balance in the body and decreasing urine production. This medication can also be used in the treatment of some cases of mild bleeding in patients with von Willebrand disease or hemophilia type A, where an increase in factor VIII concentration in plasma is required.

Composition

Each Minirin Melt tablet contains 60 mcg of desmopressin as an active ingredient, in addition to suitable excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.

Contraindications

Minirin Melt is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to desmopressin or any of the excipients present in the formulation. It should not be used in patients with severe kidney disease or in those who are being treated with medications that may cause fluid retention. Likewise, its use is contraindicated in patients with conditions predisposing to hyponatremia.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, as desmopressin can cause fluid retention and, therefore, increase blood pressure. It is also suggested to monitor blood sodium levels, especially in elderly patients or those receiving concomitant treatment with other drugs that may affect fluid balance.

Storage

Store Minirin Melt at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in its original container and protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
