Indications
Methylphenidate is indicated in the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children and adults, as well as in the treatment of narcolepsy. Its use can help improve attention, concentration, and impulse control in patients diagnosed with ADHD. It is essential that the use of the medication be carried out under the supervision of a healthcare professional, who must evaluate the appropriate dose and duration of treatment based on the specific needs of the patient.
Composition
Each tablet contains 10 mg of methylphenidate, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Methylphenidate is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, in those with glaucoma, tics or a history of Tourette's syndrome, and in patients who have shown substance abuse or dependence. Caution should also be exercised in patients with cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, or psychiatric problems.
Precautions
Regular patient monitoring is recommended during treatment with methylphenidate, paying special attention to possible side effects, such as mood changes, anxiety, or cardiovascular problems. Patients with a family history of psychiatric illnesses should be closely monitored.
