Indications

Meticortelone (Prednisolone) is indicated in the treatment of various inflammatory and allergic conditions. It is used in the management of autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. It is also used in the treatment of respiratory diseases, such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as well as in the control of severe allergic reactions. Furthermore, it may be indicated in certain dermatological conditions, hematological diseases, and endocrine disorders, where an anti-inflammatory and/or immunosuppressive effect is required.

Composition

Each ml of Meticortelone contains 3 mg of Prednisolone. Excipients: purified water, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, and other excipients.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Prednisolone or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in untreated systemic infections, nor in patients with active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with infections, as corticosteroids can mask the signs of infection. Likewise, patients with a history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, psychiatric disorders, and gastrointestinal problems should be evaluated. It is important to consider a gradual reduction in dosage to avoid withdrawal symptoms in prolonged treatments.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
