Indications
Meticortelone is indicated for the treatment of various medical conditions requiring the anti-inflammatory and/or immunosuppressive action of corticosteroids. It is used in the management of allergic diseases, dermatological disorders, respiratory diseases, autoimmune diseases, and as part of the therapy for certain types of cancer. This medication is effective in treating conditions such as asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and inflammatory bowel diseases, among others. Prednisolone works by reducing inflammation and modulating the body's immune response.
Composition
Each ml of Meticortelone solution contains 1 mg of prednisolone as the active ingredient. Excipients: purified water, hydrochloric acid, and other excipients.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to prednisolone or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered in the presence of uncontrolled systemic infections, or in patients with active peptic ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding. It is also contraindicated in certain metabolic and endocrine conditions, as well as in patients with uncontrolled viral, fungal, and bacterial infections.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Meticortelone to patients with cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, and those receiving other immunosuppressive medications. It is important to consider a medical evaluation before use in elderly patients and those with renal or hepatic insufficiency. Regular monitoring of metabolic function and the patient's general health is recommended during treatment.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the bottle tightly closed and protected from light. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
